Year 3 Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the heart of Lozells who is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 3 Teaching Assistant to join them in the new academic year.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development. Working alongside the Year 3 class teacher, you will help create a stimulating, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment where all pupils can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and learning activities.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Assist children in developing literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
  • Help prepare classroom resources and maintain an organised learning environment.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and support the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
  • Support children with additional learning needs where required.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and participate in school activities.

The Successful Candidate Will

  • Have experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within Key Stage 2.
  • Be patient, caring, and enthusiastic about supporting children’s learning.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate initiative and flexibility in supporting pupils and staff.
  • Have a commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and promoting high standards of achievement.
  • Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 desirable but not essential).

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
