Zest Education is delighted to be recruiting for a Level 1 SEND Teaching Assistant on behalf of a primary school in Tamworth.

This is an excellent opportunity for a caring, enthusiastic, and motivated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school that places children at the centre of everything it does. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils with additional needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

The role is offered on a fixed-term basis until August 2027, with 30 hours per week during term time only.

About the Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support the class teacher in delivering an engaging and challenging curriculum while helping to ensure all pupils can access learning successfully.

You will work with children who require additional support, adapting your approach to meet individual needs and promoting inclusion at all times. The role requires someone who is patient, nurturing, and passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEND needs within the classroom environment.
  • Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive learning experiences.
  • Provide individual and small-group support.
  • Encourage pupils’ confidence, independence, and engagement with learning.
  • Help create a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Assist with the preparation and organisation of learning resources.
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Contribute to the school’s commitment to high standards and inclusion for all.
