1:1 Learning Support Assistant

Zest Education is exclusively working with a SEND school in Lichfield who are looking for a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant with a hands-on attitude to join their growing team. The role is on a full-time basis, working 1:1 with an eight-year-old child and is due to start as soon as possible for the right candidate who is suitable and works well with the child.

This school caters for children from the age of five to nineteen with moderate learning difficulties, some students have additional physical, sensory, and autistic conditions. The school encourages all children to develop into independent, respectful, and confident individuals.

The successful candidate must be passionate and understand of the child’s needs and be committed to helping the children to get the most from their day. Although you will be required to work 1:1 with this student you may be needed to support other children in small groups, so it is important that you are confident working with children of a variety of ages and needs.

The role:

  • You will need to make your learning environment stimulating and engaging for the child
  • Must have a good understanding of child led learning and be prepared to assist in the preparation of activities throughout the day
  • Must have previous experience of working with individuals with SEND or experience in a care setting

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
