Learning Support Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Rubery and provide support within a vibrant Reception Class.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about early years education and helping young children develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning during their crucial first year of school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative learning activities.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and development.
  • Assist children in developing communication, social, and emotional skills.
  • Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support children with varying learning needs and abilities.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote independence.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, displays, and learning resources.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or nursery setting.
  • Relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or Supporting Teaching and Learning.
  • Experience supporting children with additional learning needs.
  • A nurturing and patient approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
