1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Zest Education are recruiting exclusively for a fantastic 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant role at an outstanding special educational needs school in Lichfield. The position will be full time working on a 1:1 basis with a seven-year-old child with Autism. There is the possibility of a permanent contract if the right candidate is found.

The school itself caters for children from the age of four to eighteen with moderate learning difficulties. The successful candidate must have SEND experience or have experience within a care environment.

The role will require you to work with the child on a 1:1 basis supporting with there learning and personal needs. You must be confident with your behaviour management, and you will be liaising with the class teachers of the child’s progress.

Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure, and you will be working in a school where they maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.

The role:

  • You will be supporting a child on a 1:1 basis with Autism due to the needs of the chid, the ideal candidate must have SEND experience
  • Providing in class support to the child and helping them engage in lesson
  • Using a visual timetable to help the child understand what is happening next

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
