Sociology Teacher – Sutton Coldfield

Zest Education are working closely with a “Good” Ofsted rated school in Birmingham, close to Sutton Coldfield. The school are looking for a Sociology Teacher, full time to cover a maternity leave. The role will start in April 2024, for the rest of the academic year and possibly into the next.

The school itself is a popular secondary, the  school encourages its students to be responsible, respectful, and ready to excel in their personal and academic futures. The teachers are committed to creating a safe and enthusiastic environment for all their pupils.

The successful applicant would be enthusiastic, creative and have good problem-solving skills.

The successful applicant will have:

• A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
• A strong passion for the subject of Sociology and excellent subject knowledge across KS4 and KS5 (Criminology knowledge would be ideal but isn’t a necessity)
• A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
• The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons
• Strong classroom and behaviour management

Rates of pay will vary dependant on experience.

Both newly qualified teachers (NQT) / Early careers teachers (ECT) and experienced teachers will be equally considered for this role.
