Design and Technology Teacher

Job Description

Zest Education are working with schools across North Birmingham, with one school in the Handsworth area looking for a Design and Technology Teacher to start after the Easter half term teaching across KS3-KS4, until the end of the academic year. Possible extension into the next academic year if the fit is right.

This is a great opportunity to work within a good school with a great reputation in the area. All members of staff work hard together to help and support the students, they want to give them the best start to their adult lives. The school is based in a great location for both private and public transport.

The successful applicant will be able to work well as a team with other members of staff, creative enjoyable and engaging lessons for the pupils, while also having a good knowledge of the subject.

The successful applicant will have:

  1. A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  2. A strong passion for the subject of Design & Technology and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
  3. A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  4. The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
  5. Strong classroom and behaviour management

Both newly qualified teachers (NQT) / Early careers teachers (ECT) and experienced teachers will be equally considered for this role.

Rate of pay will vary dependant on experience.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
