Part-time Teaching Assistant

Zest Education are recruiting for a part-time Teaching Assistant to work in a brilliant special educational needs school located in Telford. This position is due to start May 2023 and will be on going until the end of the academic year, you will be required to work 3 days a week (which can be discussed at interview).

This school caters for students from the age of 5-19 with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The ideal candidate must have experience supporting individuals with SEND.

The school is improving within academic and attainment levels and is continually looking to ensure their students develop into respectable and inspiring individuals.

The role will require you to quickly build engaging relationships with small groups of children, and you will need to work closely as a team with the class teacher and other teaching assistants.

The role:

• You will be confident, enthusiastic and be able to identify and engage with different learning needs
• You will be supporting students with a variety of needs and ages so it is important that you are able to who can adapt your practice wherever necessary to support across all key stages
• You must have experience supporting individuals with special educational needs or experience in a care environment
• You will be working alongside the class teacher, assisting the children with their work, and supporting with pupil behaviour while establishing good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
