Job Description

A Special Educational Needs school within the Birmingham, Kings Heath area needs a Teaching Assistant to join their team on a part-time basis until the end of the academic year. On a day rate ranging from £85-£95, this school are looking for someone to start ASAP. Excellent train, bus and motorway links, the school is in a great location

This specific SEN school caters for a wide age range of pupils with social emotional and mental health difficulties and autism (SEMH, ASC). They aim to empower every child allowing for them to achieve their full potential.

The role itself:

  • Enforcing and implementing compassion and positive behaviour strategies
  • De-escalating stressful situations and working alongside the class teacher to ensure that students remain on task and receive the best possible education.
  • Allow the teacher the freedom to deliver lessons by working alongside them and focusing on the pupils needs.
  • To show strong initiative while remaining heavily focused
  • Providing an encouraging and nurturing environment to allow for the pupils to learn life skills while as independent as possible.

The Ideal Candidate Will have:

  • Previous experience working with SEN (Essential)
  • An ability to work well within a fast-paced environment
  • Passion, determination and courage for yourself and the pupils
