Part-time Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Part-time Teaching Assistant.

Zest Education is working in close partnership with a special educational needs school located in Nuneaton, who are looking to appoint a part-time Teaching Assistant to start ASAP 4 days per week. This position will continue a long-term basis into the new academic year.

The school caters for children from the age of eleven to eighteen with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The ideal candidate must have previous experience supporting individuals with special educational needs or in a similar environment.

The school is improving within academic and attainment levels and is continually looking to ensure their students develop into respectable and inspiring individuals. It is important to this school that each individual student receives a high standard of education, due to this reason each class has a maximum of nine students based on their ability. You may be required to work in a variety of these classes, so it is important that you are flexible to meet the student’s needs.

The role:

  • You will need to be confident, enthusiastic and be able to identify and engage with different learning needs
  • Must be passionate to build trusting relationships with the children to help them manage the learning challenges they may face
  • To assist the students to learn as efficiently as possible on a one-to-one basis and in small groups

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
