Geography Teacher

Job Description

Zest Education is currently seeking a highly motivated and qualified Geography teacher to join our team at a local Telford secondary school. As a geography teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate students, helping them develop a deep understanding and appreciation for the subject.

Responsibilities:
– Deliver high-quality geography lessons to students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, ensuring the curriculum is effectively covered.
– Collaborate with the wider humanities department to plan and coordinate lessons, assessments, and examinations.
– Utilize your excellent subject knowledge to engage students and foster a love for geography.
– Implement effective classroom management techniques to maintain a positive learning environment.
– Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth.
– Foster a team environment by actively participating in departmental meetings and sharing best practices with colleagues.
– Support students in their personal and academic development, promoting respect and understanding within the school community.

Requirements:
– A valid PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification with QTS or QTLS.
– In-depth knowledge of geography curriculum up to Key Stage 5, with additional knowledge of history at Key Stage 3.
– Passion for the subject of Geography and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality education.
– Excellent planning and organizational skills to effectively prepare lessons and assessments.
– Strong classroom management skills to maintain a positive and focused learning environment.
– Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a cohesive team.
– An understanding of the importance of student welfare and the ability to support students in their personal and academic development.
