Learning Support Assistant – Cannock

Zest Education is working in close partnership with a special educational needs school located in Cannock. The school are looking to appoint a full-time Learning Support Assistant to start October 2023 and will continue on a long-term basis for the full academic year. The successful Learning Support Assistant must be able to work Monday to Friday, 8:30-15:30.

This is a primary SEND school which provides education for children from the age of 2-11 with moderate learning difficulties (MLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), Autism spectrum condition (ASC) and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).

This is an incredibly rewarding role working closely with our learners to provide them with an educational experience that not only extends their academic skills and abilities, but also promotes personal growth and helps to build self-esteem. Your role is to support the students with their learning and general wellbeing to ensure every student has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment.

The role:

  • Must have experience supporting individuals with SEND or have experience within a care environment
  • You must be resilient and confident with your behaviour management
  • Must have experience supporting individuals with SEND
  • Establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with students in order to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the school
  • Promote and encourage independence and personal development in students and maintain high expectations of behaviour at all times

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
