Job Description

Learning Support Assistant

We are currently looking for a passionate, bright, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work on a long-term basis at a special educational needs school located in Nuneaton. This position is due to begin October 2023.

This school provides education for children and young people from the age of 9-19 with an autism spectrum condition or an identified social, emotional, or mental health need.

This school has excellent facilities across the school to benefit both pupils and staff. The school has a strong ethos of inclusion and equality and aims to provide all pupils with a safe and secure environment to learn and grow as an individual.

The role will require you to quickly build engaging relationships with small groups of children, and you will need to work closely as a team with the class teacher and other teaching assistants.

The role:

  • You have experience of supporting individuals with special educational needs
  • You will need to be adaptable to work and support children of a variety of ages and learning difficulties
  • Implement positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalate any challenges you do face with your calm approach
