Classroom Support Assistant
Zest Education is proud to be working alongside a special educational needs school based in Tamworth that requires a full-time Classroom Support Assistant. This position is commencing January 2023 and will be ongoing until the end of the academic year. There is a possibility that the role could become permanent if the right candidate is found. You will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 15:30.
This school caters for students from the age of six to fourteen with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The successful candidate must have experience supporting individuals with SEND and is confident managing challenging behaviour.
The team here work hard to maintain a supportive and inclusive ethos across all areas of the school and put the children at the heart of what they do. The role will require you to quickly build engaging relationships with small groups of children, and you will need to work closely as a team with the class teacher and other teaching assistants.
The role:
- You will be required to work with the students individually and in small groups, supporting with all areas of the curriculum
- You must be passionate about working with students with special educational needs and have previous experience of working in a special school or similar environment
- You will be confident, enthusiastic and be able to identify and engage with different learning needs

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
