Teaching Assistant – Cannock

We are looking to recruit a resilient Teaching Assistant to work in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Cannock. There are both full-time and part-time positions available. The role is due to being September 2023 and will continue on a long-term basis for the full academic year.

This is a specialist provision which provides education for students from the age of 5-17 with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Due to the needs of the learners, the ideal candidate must be confident with their behaviour management.

This school is committed to each individual student providing specialist support tailored to each individual’s needs and helping all students reach their full potential.

The role:

  • Class sizes are small throughout this school with a maximum of 6 students in each – you may be required to support the students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups so must be adaptable
  • You must be passionate about working with students with SEND and have previous experience of working in a SEND school or similar environment
  • You will be supporting the class teacher within the classroom such as preparing learning resources, setting up the classroom and keeping it to a high standard
