SEND Teaching Assistant – Old Oscott

Job Description

Zest Education are recruiting for a part-time Teaching Assistant to work in an excellent special educational needs school in Old Oscott. This position is a permanent role with an October start. Join an amazing team making this school and its classrooms supportive, enriching places where vulnerable children and young people achieve far more than they ever expected.

This school caters for children 3-11 years old, who hold an Education, Health and Care Plan. You will be experienced and enthusiastic about teaching children with a variety of different needs. With only around 100 children in the school small class sizes are utilised to achieve the children’s potential. You will help prepare learning materials and run classroom activities, with plenty of hands-on experience and some supervision too. You will take responsibility for their emotional and physical needs, supporting them to develop as individuals and engage with the world.

  • Have experience of working with children with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

  • Promote independence, communication and social skills with all our children.
  • Work closely with families to promote becoming lifelong learners and valued member of the community.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
