Teaching Assistant

We are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant for a special educational needs school in Telford. This position is due to start November 2023 and will be on going for the full academic year.

This is a primary SEND school which caters for children from the age of 6-11 with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH).

The school has dedicated staff members that are committed to creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that meets the diverse needs of their students.

This role will involve working with the students to provide additional support within the classroom with both learning and behaviour. You must also be able to set, monitor and review personalised targets for child. Having excellent communication will also be required in order to communicate effectively with the children and other members of staff.

 

The role:

  • Strong behaviour management skills are essential within the role, therefore the successful candidate would need a calming but strong personality and mannerisms.
  • Must have experience supporting individuals with SEND
  • You will be setting up classrooms, preparing learning resources, displays and tidying and clearing away
  • Must be comfortable working on a 1:1 basis and in small groups with the students

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
