Teaching Assistant

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant in a unique special educational needs school located in Cannock.

This school caters for children aged 7-18 with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Due to the needs of the children, the successful candidate will have previous experience of working in SEND and have good knowledge of behaviour management strategies.

This school tailors the students timetable to include time doing adventurous activities such as climbing, kayaking, hill walking, mounting biking and archery. The school are looking for an individual who is motivated and is persistent to overcome any challenging barriers with students to achieve the best possible results. You will be supporting the students with SEMH in all areas of the curriculum under guidance of the teacher and will be expected to work with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.

This is a full-time position starting in October 2023 until the end of the academic year. You will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 15:30.

• You will need to have excellent communication skills with students and staff.
• You will need to be adaptable and have experience of working in a special educational needs environment
• You will need to be confident in your ability to support students with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties
