Zest education are seeking a dedicated, patient, and enthusiastic 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Sutton Coldfield. This rewarding role involves providing individual support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND throughout the school day.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies.
  • Support the child’s academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Promote independence while encouraging engagement in lessons and school activities.
  • Assist with monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records where required.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience working with children with SEND in a school or similar setting.
  • Be patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting individual needs.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Have a proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning.
  • Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
