Zest Education is currently looking for a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive Community Primary school in Tamworth this September.
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity, supporting a pupil on a one-to-one basis and playing a key role in their learning and development.
The role will see you providing tailored support to a pupil with special educational needs (SEND), helping them to access the curriculum and develop essential skills. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement individual learning plans (EHCPs). You must have the ability to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being while using resources and learning activities to meet the child’s specific needs.
To be successful, you must have experience supporting children with additional needs; be patient, empathetic, and understanding of the challenges faced by children with SEND; have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, supportive relationships; be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the pupil and the wider classroom. Ideally, you will have a relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or SEND training).

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
