1:1 Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a reputable special educational needs school located in Walsall.

Position: 1:1 Teaching Assistant

 Contract: Full-time

Start Date: Immediate

In this role, you will have the rewarding opportunity to work closely with a 9-year-old student who has complex needs. Collaborating under the guidance of the classroom teacher, you will provide personalised support and assistance to ensure the student’s educational journey is both inclusive and fulfilling.

The school prides itself on catering to students aged 3-18, offering a safe and nurturing environment for those with Autism (ASC), social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH), as well as complex needs. To excel in this position, prior experience working with children or adults with special educational needs is essential.

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in their development, building and maintaining successful relationships with the children. Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
