Zest Education are currently working with a ‘Good’ Ofsted rated school in Cannock to recruit a full time Sociology Teacher from January 2024 in a long term supply position.
The school are ideally looking for a Sociology teacher with the ability to teach to KS4 and KS5, any knowledge of Criminology and other social science curriculum would also be an advantage. The successful applicant would be creative, enthusiastic and looking to develop their career.
Not only does the school have a great reputation in the local community, the successful applicant would be joining a supportive leadership structure as well as an excellent departmental team. The school are focused on developing their students emotionally, mentally and academically to create well rounded individuals.
The successful applicant will have:
- A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
- A strong passion for the subject of Sociology and excellent subject knowledge across KS4 and KS5 (Criminology knowledge would be ideal but isn’t a necessity)
- A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
- The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
- Strong classroom and behaviour management
- Be confident in using ICT in their professional role
