Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties? Zest Education is seeking a dedicated Alternative Education Teacher to join our team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.
This full-time role is scheduled to commence in September 2024 and will run for the entire academic year. As an Alternative Education Teacher at this PRU, you will be responsible for providing tailored support to students aged 6-18 within a small class setting designed for individualised learning. All students at this setting have social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
Applicants must demonstrate strong classroom behaviour management skills and the ability to enhance student attainment levels. Utilising provided resources effectively, you will play a pivotal role in helping students progress and eventually reintegrate into a mainstream educational environment.
To be considered for this position, candidates must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS). If you are committed to empowering students and have a deep understanding of SEMH needs, we encourage you to apply.

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
