Zest Education are currently working with a secondary school located in South Birmingham, close to Harborne. The school are looking for an Art and Design Teacher, to teach across KS3-KS5, the role will start in September 2022, on a full-time basis, this will be for a minimum of one term but is likely to be extended for the right candidate.

The school is a large secondary, which caters for a broad range of pupils and has a high number of EAL students. The teachers here work hard to create a safe and happy place for its students, the school also promotes an open-door policy for all their pupils, so that everyone feels comfortable to discuss any views or concerns.

The school are ideally looking for a dynamic and creative teacher to join their departmental team, the successful candidate will also have access to the school’s state of the art facilities.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  • A strong passion for the subject of Art and Design and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 to KS5
  • A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  • The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management

Rates of pay will vary dependant on experience.

Both newly qualified teachers (NQT) / Early careers teachers (ECT) and experienced teachers will be equally considered for this role.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
