Classroom Support Assistant

Job Description

We’re recruiting for an enthusiastic, bright, and hard-working teaching assistant to work on a part-time basis at a special educational needs school located in Lichfield. You will be required to work three days a week starting in September 2022 until the end of the academic year.

The school caters for children from the age of elevan to sixteen with autism and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Due to the needs of the learners within the environment, we are ideally looking for someone that has previously worked with individuals who have SEND difficulties.

The school are committed to providing the children with the life skills to be as independent as possible. The school supports training and development for all of its staff and is continually looking for strong team players to join their team. The ideal candidate will have good understanding and knowledge of working with an inclusive approach and can demonstrate this in the classroom and around the school.

The successful candidate will be able to work with children 1:1 and in small groups, preparing the classroom and resources and most importantly building positive relationships with all the children to build their self-esteem.

The role:
– You have experience of working with individuals with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (desirable but not essential)

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
