Computer Science Teacher

Job Description

Zest Education are urgently recruiting a computer Science teacher for a high performing Secondary school in the Stoke on Trent area to start from January 2025 for the rest of the academic year.

The school supports training and development for all of its staff and is continually looking for strong team players to join their team. Candidates applying for this role need to have excellent classroom and behaviour management with the ability to create dynamic and engaging lessons.

Subject knowledge is essential for KS3 and KS4 with knowledge at KS5 being an advantage as Computer Science is a popular subject taken up at A level, so lessons may include some A level teaching.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  • A strong passion for the subject of Computer Science and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
  • A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  • The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
