Design and Technology Teacher – Textiles

Job Description

Zest Education are seeking a passionate Design and Technology Teacher to join an ‘Outstanding’ rated school located in the Kings Heath area. The successful applicant will obtain a key position within the Design and Technology department and will specialise in the popular subject area of Textiles. This is a full time role due to commence in September 2025. The role is expected to run for the two terms.

The school has a reputation for excellence, and they are looking for a teacher who can contribute to maintaining these high standards. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of outstanding teaching, along with excellent subject knowledge and the ability to create a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

– Plan and deliver high-quality textiles lessons.
– Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to engage and motivate students.
– Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback to support their development.
– Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the department’s ongoing improvement.
– Participate in extracurricular activities and events related to textiles and design.

Requirements:

– Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
– Specialisation in textiles and a strong understanding of the subject.
– Proven experience teaching textiles at the secondary level.
– Strong classroom management skills.
– High expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
