Extended School Support Teaching Assistant

Zest Education is recruiting a reliable and enthusiastic Extended School Support Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary setting in Lichfield. This role is based within the after‑school club, supporting children at the end of the school day and helping to create a safe, engaging and positive environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is looking for part‑time, term‑time hours.

About the Role

Working under the direction of senior staff, you will support the smooth running of the after‑school club. Your role will involve caring for children, helping to organise activities, and ensuring the club remains a safe and enjoyable space for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting staff in delivering fun, engaging after‑school activities
• Supervising and caring for children aged 4–11
• Helping maintain a positive, inclusive and well‑organised environment
• Assisting with preparation of resources and activity set‑up
• Building positive relationships with children, staff and parents
• Using basic technology such as computers, photocopiers and tablets
• Working both independently and as part of a team

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with or caring for children
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to relate well to both children and adults
• Good organisational skills and a flexible approach
• Basic first aid knowledge (or willingness to complete training)
• A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to support the wider team
