Job Description

Full-Time Teaching Assistant – EYFS Provision
Location: Frankley, Birmingham
Start Date: September 2025 (Temporary contract with a view to becoming permanent in January 2026)
Hours: 08:30am – 3:45pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications

Zest Education is excited to be partnering with a welcoming primary school in the Frankley area to recruit a Full-Time Teaching Assistant for their Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provision. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young children’s learning and development, with the potential for a permanent contract from January 2026.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting small groups of children and working alongside the class teacher to deliver EYFS learning activities.

  • Assist with the preparation of resources and classroom activities to support play-based learning and child development.

  • Help facilitate learning through play, encouraging positive social interactions and skill development.

  • Be an active and collaborative member of the wider EYFS team, contributing to planning and the creation of engaging learning environments.

  • Support the well-being and emotional development of the children, ensuring a safe, happy, and inclusive environment.


What We’re Looking For:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or higher).

  • Previous experience working in an EYFS setting, ideally supporting small groups of children.

  • A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach to supporting young learners.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • A commitment to creating an engaging, child-centred learning environment.

  • Own transport is desirable due to the location of the school.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
