Zest Education are looking to recruit a Food Technology teacher for a school in the Sutton Coldfield area. The role is part time (0.8) but (0.6) would be considered for the right candidate with it set to start in April 2024 for a minimum of one term .

The ideal candidate will have excellent food technology subject knowledge and also knowledge of another Design and technology discipline as a second subject. The school have had a recent investment in their resources, so lessons are able to become more dynamic and creative.

The school aims to create an environment meant where opportunities grow and students have the chance to explore autonomy and key skills that will lead them to independent young people.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  • A strong passion for Food Technology and a substantial knowledge of the subject across KS3 and KS4
  • A strong desire to be part of the wider D&T department
  • The ability to control the classroom and the behaviour of the students
  • A creative mind with the ability to adapt lessons as and when needed to suit the needs of the students.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
