Full-Time 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Lichfield. Starting in the new year (January 2026), this role will involve working 1:1 with a child with high needs in the Year 6 classroom. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

📚 About the Role

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with high needs in Year 6
  • Assist with classroom learning, behaviour management, and personalised interventions
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school staff to implement tailored strategies
  • Help the pupil access the curriculum and achieve their learning targets
  • Create a nurturing, inclusive environment that promotes confidence and independence

✅ What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with SEND or 1:1 support
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting children with high needs
  • Ability to adapt to individual learning styles and needs
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to supporting the school community
