Zest Education is recruiting an experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Year 5 and Year 6 at a welcoming primary school in Tamworth. This full-time Teaching Assistant role starts as soon as possible and will continue until the end of the academic year.


About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to make a real difference in Upper Key Stage 2. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support all pupils in the classroom. You will also provide targeted assistance to children with special educational needs (SEN), helping them access the curriculum and build confidence.

The successful Teaching Assistant will be proactive, caring, and skilled at supporting learning for a range of abilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support learning in Year 5 and Year 6 as a Teaching Assistant, providing one-to-one and small group support.

  • Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering lessons.

  • Help pupils with SEN develop their skills and confidence.

  • Encourage independence, engagement, and positive behaviour across the class.

  • Collaborate with other Teaching Assistants, teachers, and staff to ensure all pupils succeed.

  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.


Experience Required

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school.

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly in Key Stage 2.

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and classroom management skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting learning.
