Zest Education is working in close partnership with a special educational needs school located in Rugeley. The school are looking to appoint a full-time Teaching Assistant to start October 2022 and will continue on a long-term basis into the new academic year. The successful Teaching Assistant must be able to work Monday to Friday, 8:30-15:30.

This is an independent specialist school with two attached children’s homes, based in a beautiful area of rural Staffordshire.  The school caters for children from the age of five to nineteen with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). All students throughout this school have associated learning difficulties with the moderate to severe range. Due to the needs of the learners, the ideal candidate must have experience supporting individuals with SEND and is confident with their behaviour management.

The role will require you to quickly build engaging relationships with small groups of children, and you will need to work closely as a team with the class teacher and other teaching assistants. You will be required to work with the students 1:1 and in small groups so it is important that you can identify and engage with different learning needs.

  • You must be engaging, reliable and able to quickly build professional relationships
  • You must be a dedicated individual to providing children with a secure and supportive learning environment

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
