Full-time Teaching Assistant, Stoke-on-Trent.

We are currently recruiting for a full-time teaching assistant to work in a fantastic special educational needs school located in Stoke-on-Trent. This position is to start in October 2022 and will be on going until the end of the academic year, you will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 15:30.

This school caters for children from the age of five to nineteen with autism, speech, and language disorders, moderate to severe learning difficulties and associated behavioural difficulties. Due to the needs of the children, we are ideally looking for an individual with experience of working with special educational needs.

The school is improving within academic and attainment levels and is continually looking to ensure their students develop into respectable and inspiring individuals. You will be required to work alongside the teacher and establish positive relationships with the children to support them feeling safe and allowing them to learn and enjoy their time at the school.

The role:

  • The successful candidate will have knowledge and understanding of the needs of working in an alternative provision and will be able to forge positive and mutually respectful relationships with colleagues and students
  • You will be working with the children in small groups and on a 1:1 basis
  • You have a creative approach and can adapt this to meet each individual child’s needs
