Zest Education is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school located in the heart of Lichfield. We are currently recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil on a 1:1 basis.
This is a full-time, ongoing role due to start as soon as possible.
The school has a strong reputation within the local community for nurturing its pupils both academically and emotionally. Leadership is approachable and child-focused, and staff are valued for their contribution to the wider school community.
You will be working in a Year 5 classroom, providing tailored 1:1 support to a child with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The pupil is capable and enjoys learning but benefits from consistent support to remain focused and engaged with their work.
Your role will involve:
Helping the pupil stay on task during lessons
Supporting them in managing emotions and maintaining positive behaviour
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual strategies
Providing encouragement and promoting independence
Experience working with children with SEMH or additional needs is desirable
A patient, calm, and nurturing approach
A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
