Geography Teacher

Job Description

Zest Education are working closely with a high performing Secondary School in the Stoke on Trent area to recruit a full time Geography Teacher from January 2025 in an ongoing position until the end of the school year.

The school are looking to recruit an experienced and creative Geography teacher with a passion for supporting and aiding with the development of students. The school has the ambition to provide every student and outstanding learning experience, this is done by having high standards of achievement and learning. All students are supported through their learning and are expected to treat everyone with respect and understanding.

Subject knowledge of Geography up to KS5 is necessary for this role with additional knowledge needed to teach history to KS3. This level of subject knowledge is non-negotiable. The chosen candidate will be working closely with the wider department to plan and mark lessons as well as any preparations needed for exams and in class testing.

The successful applicant will have:
  1. A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  2. A strong passion for the subject of Geography and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 – KS5
  3. A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  4. The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
  5. Strong classroom and behaviour management
