Job Description

Location: Solihull Start date: September 2026 / ASAP Contract: Full‑time Pay: £140–£190 per day (depending on experience)

About the Role

A welcoming, well‑led primary school in Solihull is seeking a passionate and dedicated KS1 Teacher to join their team. You will take responsibility for a Year 1 or Year 2 class, delivering engaging lessons and creating a nurturing, structured learning environment.

This role suits a teacher who is creative, organised and committed to helping children make strong progress in their early primary years.

📘 Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high‑quality lessons across the KS1 curriculum
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom where children feel safe and confident
  • Assess, track and support pupil progress
  • Deliver phonics, early reading and early maths with clarity and consistency
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and the wider staff team
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning

👤 Person Specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Recent experience teaching in KS1
  • Strong understanding of phonics and early curriculum frameworks
  • Confident with behaviour management and classroom routines
  • Warm, reflective and proactive in your approach
  • Committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice
