This is a part-time position working 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, supporting pupils across Key Stage 1. The school is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping young learners develop confidence, independence, and a love for learning.
About the Role
As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils both in the classroom and through small group activities. You will play an important role in helping children build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and social development.
This role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone with relevant experience working with young children who is looking to make a positive impact in a primary school setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 1.
- Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
- Support pupils in developing literacy and numeracy skills.
- Encourage engagement, participation, and positive behaviour.
- Assist with classroom preparation and learning resources.
- Support children’s social, emotional, and academic development.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other members of staff.
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will:
- Have experience working with children in a primary school, nursery, or childcare setting.
- Be patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- Demonstrate a proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning.
- Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
