Learning Support Assistant

We’re recruiting for a passionate Learning Support Assistant role at a busy special educational needs school in Telford.  This is a full-time role, starting immediately. Hours of work will be from Monday-Friday, 8:30-15:30.

As a Teaching Assistant at this school, you will play a crucial role in supporting students aged 3-18 with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). While prior experience in a school setting is beneficial, we welcome applications from individuals with backgrounds in supporting adults with special educational needs, as we believe that diverse experiences enrich our learning environment.

The school prides itself on fostering independence, respect, and confidence in all students. By providing a balanced mix of classroom instruction and real-life experiences, aiming to equip the students with the skills they need to navigate future employment opportunities successfully.

In this role, you will work closely with students both individually and in small groups, covering various areas of the curriculum and promoting independence wherever possible. Flexibility and initiative are key, as you will be working across different classrooms and age groups in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will collaborate closely with class teachers and fellow teaching assistants to ensure the best possible support for the students.
