Zest Education are recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to start ASAP at a primary school in Lichfield.
The school are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant/Teaching Assistant to join a friendly team at in Lichfield
The successful candidate will provide care and support to the children of the school in all aspects of the school day. Part of the role will also include supervising and supporting pupils eating their lunch and in outdoor play activities. Part of this role will be 1:1 support for a pupil with learning needs. The successful candidate will need to support a child in the EYFS with accessing provision, delivering personal and small group interventions and some personal care.
Hours: 32.5hours per week
Full/Part Time: Full Time
Contract Type: Term time, Temporary
Start Date: ASAP
Within this varied role, there will be a number of responsibilities including:
• Providing learning support for pupils across the school.
• Support in sessions and delivery 1:1 or small group interventions.
• Making observations of individuals and feeding this information back to the class teacher.
• Working with outside agencies and implementing suggested actions and interventions.
• Providing personal care and support as needed.
• Developing strong relationships with parents through regular communication.
Key Skills and experience needed:
• Teaching and Learning Level 3 qualification
• Experience as a teaching assistant or learning support assistant.
• A commitment to raising standards and improving outcomes for children.
• An enthusiastic and friendly approach.
• Understanding and proficiency in the core subjects of the Primary National Curriculum.
Desired skills (not essential):
• Experience working 1:1 with children.
• Experience of EYFS.
• Makaton
• Experience supporting SEMH needs of pupils.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
