Zest Education are currently working alongside a high performing secondary school in the Castle Bromwich area to recruit for a qualified Teacher of PE. The position is a full-time teaching role due to commence in September 2024. The role is open to Male applicants only due to the sensitive nature of changing room supervision.

PE is one of the most popular subjects taken at GCSE at this school, so strong knowledge of the KS4 curriculum is essential. The successful candidate will be adaptable and creative with their lesson planning and will have experience in marking both practical and theory-based work.

Responsibilities:

– Lead and deliver engaging PE lessons to secondary school students
– Plan and prepare practical lessons, ensuring they align with the national curriculum and achieve learning objectives
– Assess and evaluate students’ progress, providing constructive feedback and support for improvement
– Implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
– Promote health, fitness, and wellbeing among students, encouraging active participation in physical activities
– Collaborate with colleagues to organise and supervise extracurricular sports activities and events
– Stay up-to-date with developments in the field of physical education and implement innovative teaching methods
– Maintain accurate records of attendance and achievements

Requirements:

– Qualified teacher status (QTS) in PE or relevant subject
– Proven experience teaching physical education to KS4 level
– Strong knowledge of the national curriculum requirements for physical education
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate students
– Ability to plan and deliver practical lessons that cater to diverse learning needs and abilities
– Effective behaviour management skills to maintain a positive and safe learning environment
– Passion for promoting physical activity, health, and wellbeing among students
