MFL – Maternity Cover

Job Description

Zest Education are looking to recruit a full time MFL teacher with a French specialism in a maternity cover role for a minimum of one term starting January 2025. The school is a local Telford Secondary school, rated ‘Good’ in their last OFSTED inspection. The role may extend past one term but this will be confirmed by the school.

The school is high performing with increasing grade performance year on year. The ethos the school goes by is believing that their children and young adults have the talent and the potential to achieve anything and become anything that they set their minds to.

Ideally, the candidate will have experience of teaching French across KS3 and KS4 with some experience of Teaching at KS5. This is a longer term role so planning and marking will be required as well as other duties within the MFL department. A passion for languages and a creative approach for teaching will also be necessary.

The successful applicant will have:

  1. A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  2. A strong passion for the subject of French and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
  3. A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  4. The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
  5. Strong classroom and behaviour management

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
