Job Description

Are you a qualified Music Teacher – looking for work in the special educational needs sector? Zest are currently recruiting on behalf of a SEND school based in Birmingham who are looking for a fully-qualified Music Teacher on a part-time basis of 4 days per week. The role will be starting in the Summer term, but for the right candidate – they may be required sooner.

This school caters for students between Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 4 age groups who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties and Attachment Disorders. The ideal candidate will have a car due to the role being split across 2 sites in Birmingham OR the role can be split across 2 ideal candidates who are prepared to be flexible.

 

The successful Music Teacher requirements are:

  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  • Previous experience of teaching Music, and substantial knowledge of the subject across Key Stage 2-4
  • The ability to plan and deliver high quality lessons
  • Strong behaviour management skills and ability to control a classroom
  • Ability to work collaboratively with support staff
