Zest Education is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Music Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school community in Handsworth. This is a fantastic chance to shape young musicians, spark creativity, and bring the joy of music to the classroom.

🎼 About the Role

You will play a key part in delivering an engaging and inclusive music curriculum that encourages students to explore, perform, and develop confidence in their musical abilities. This role offers flexible working options, with both part‑time and full‑time hours available from September 2026, running for at least one term.

  • Deliver engaging lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and inspire a love of music
  • Motivate students to explore creativity, performance, and musical expression
  • Use diverse teaching strategies to support learners of all abilities
  • Assess progress and provide constructive, meaningful feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues on performances and cross‑curricular initiatives
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment where students feel confident to express themselves

🎵 What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in Music Education
  • Strong understanding of music theory, performance techniques, and a broad range of musical genres
  • Experience teaching students with varied abilities and learning styles
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire and engage young people
  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive, creative approach to teaching
  • A genuine passion for music education and supporting students’ artistic growth
