Part-time Teaching Assistant, Telford.

A busy primary school in Telford are looking to recruit a part-time Teaching Assistant 3 days per week starting September 2022.

This school caters for children from the age of seven to eighteen with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH).  The ideal candidate must have previous experience supporting individuals with special educational needs and if confident with their behaviour management.

This is a popular school which encourages all children to develop into independent, respectful, and confident individuals. You will be required to work alongside the teacher, supporting the children with all areas of the curriculum. You will be working with the students 1:1 and in small groups, so it is important to this school that you have a flexible approach.

The role will require you to quickly build engaging relationships with small groups of children, and you will need to work closely as a team with the class teacher and other teaching assistants.

The role:

  • You have previous experience of supporting individuals with special educational needs or in a similar environment
  • You will need to be adaptable to work and support children of a variety of ages and learning difficulties
  • The successful candidate must be a proactive and engaging individual who has proven experience of having strong behaviour management skills
