Part-Time Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education are currently recruiting a dedicated and hardworking Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Stirchley. You will be required to assist across the school (KS1 and KS2), supporting in classes as well as delivering interventions. This is a part-time position working 3 days a week, so it is a perfect opportunity for someone looking for more flexibility and a better work/life balance! This role is due to start in January 2025.

The ideal candidate must be able to support the class teachers in delivering an innovative curriculum and motivate the children to strive for the best.

You will be required to:

– Aid the classroom teacher in preparing lesson materials and displays in the classroom.

– Effectively work with students to ensure they understand the task or work.

– Assist students in acquiring the ability to learn independently.

– Provide one to one support and small group support to children who require it.

– Helping on school excursions, trips and events.

– Motivate students to participate in class activities and engage with the class.

– Promote good pupil conduct and encourage students to take responsibility for their actions.

You will need to have:

– A good understanding of the Key Stage curriculum and child development.

– Strong verbal communication and active listening skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues/professionals.

– True passion and commitment to working with children and helping them achieve.

– Experience in a similar role or in an educational setting is essential.

– Enhanced DBS check or the willingness to obtain one.

– Good teamwork skills and be able to work collaboratively and independently.
