Qualified Teaching Assistant

About the role

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Coventry is looking for a dedicated Qualified Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who is confident supporting learning across the classroom, enjoys working with children of varying abilities, and is passionate about helping pupils feel engaged, supported and ready to learn each day.

Requirements

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Previous classroom experience is highly desirable
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND is an advantage
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A calm, patient and adaptable approach
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

Day‑to‑day duties

• Supporting teaching and learning across the classroom
• Working with small groups or individual pupils
• Assisting with phonics, reading, writing and maths activities
• Helping pupils stay focused, motivated and confident
• Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation using agreed strategies
• Helping maintain a positive, inclusive and well‑organised classroom environment
• Working closely with the class teacher to deliver high‑quality support
