Resource base assistant

Job Description

A school in Sheldon, Birmingham requires two full time teaching assistants to work in their KS1 and KS2 Resource Base, to start as soon as possible.

This mainstream primary school is ideally located, with excellent train and public transport links and has a growing reputation with academic and attainment levels reflecting this. The school is managed by a passionate and well-established team who work well together to maintain a supportive and inclusive ethos across all year groups.

 

What the role will involve:

  • Working with groups of up to 12 children to support their individual learning plans
  • Supporting core areas such as reading, writing, and maths
  • Assisting children in developing social skills
  • Working on a 1-1 basis to support individual requirements where required
  • Helping children to focus on a personalised curriculum, including phonics, group interaction, and numeracy

 

The role itself will be working in either KS1 or KS2, with a maximum of 12 pupils and working alongside the class teacher and another 2 full time Teaching Assistants. The roles will also involve general class duties such as SEND support, small group work and helping with resources for the classroom.

The role will be for the remainder of the academic year (full time) and could turn permanent for the right candidate. The school encourages applicants with recent and relevant experience and ideally will ne NVQ level 2 qualified (or above) in a relevant subject.
