SEMH Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is incredibly proud to be working alongside a vibrant SEND school located in Nuneaton. You will be supporting students aged 4-19 years with identified social, emotional, or mental health (SEMH) needs. This school has a large, dedicated, and committed staff team that strives to promote independence, emotional well-being, and a love for learning. This position is due to start as soon as possible for the right candidate and will be with the view of a permanent role after twelve weeks.

This is a full-time teaching assistant role requiring you to work Monday to Friday 8:30am-15:30pm supporting the class teacher and other teaching assistants. You will be required to work within small groups of students and due to the age range of the students, you must be flexible across all ages. The ideal candidate must have previous experience working alongside individuals with SEMH needs and have strong behavior management skills.

The role:

  • Due to this school catering for various ages, you will need to be adaptable.
  • Be able to build strong relationships with staff and pupils.
  • Be able to use your initiative and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
