SEN Classroom Support Worker

Job Description

Location: Primary school in Coleshill

Years: Working across all year groups

Hours: 8:30am – 4pm

Start date: ASAP

Contract type: Supply basis

Zest Education is seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable SEN Classroom Support Worker to work on a supply basis at a mainstream primary school in Coleshill. This flexible role is perfect for those who want to gain experience, work around other commitments and support pupils with additional needs in a truly rewarding way.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class support to pupils with SEND needs, both 1:1 and in small groups.
  • Promote pupil independence, confidence and promote positive behaviour.
  • Adapt learning activities and resources to ensure accessibility for all.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs and other professionals to support student progress.
  • Step into different classroom settings with confidence and professionalism.

 

The school you’ll be supporting is welcoming, inclusive and rated Ofsted Outstanding offering a friendly, collaborative environment where staff work together to ensure every child is given the opportunity to succeed.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children (ideally with SEND) in a school setting.
  • A flexible, proactive approach suited to supply work.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to quickly adapt to new classrooms and routines.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, childcare / equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working with children or vulnerable adults
  • A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through Zest Education).

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
